Current - the process of letting go

I'm sitting by the sea right now thinking about an example I gave to one of my clients. It was about letting go. Letting things happen and accepting them, even if at the moment they feel like they are taking us further and further away from where we really want to be. Even if they feel awful and everything in us is screaming: do something, stand up for what is rightfully yours, fight so that you achieve everything you want and what is just.

I compare this to the current in the sea. You know when there is a strong current that pulls us out to sea. Our instinct says fight it, swim, stronger, faster and what happens? We get tired and thus put ourselves more and more in danger, against which we are actually trying to defend ourselves. So we achieve exactly the opposite of what we want.

What alternative do we have at this point? We can let the current carry us out, keep our energy and strength, and when we feel the pull weakening, swim to the side and then back to shore. At the beginning it seems that we are working against what we actually want, and yet it is the only way to reach the goal under our own power.

Real life works the same way. If we recognize the "currents" in our life, then we can let go, relax, and see with distance how we reach our goal. In this way, we succeed in using our power and energy in the right place and in realizing our wishes. Letting go leads us to the goal.

Totally agree with the “letting go” but it goes against our instinctual survival mindset. Our beliefs that everything good is hard and takes tremendous work to achieve is thinking of the past. Letting go is our new skill to develop. Great reminder! Thank you. PS…. I wish I was by the sea!😀
